The students of the industrial engineering department from CEIT were treated to an enriching experience when they got an opportunity to visit the Gulf Factory for Packaging in Jeddah Industrial City. Gulf Pack is the largest plastic manufacturers in Arabian peninsula and the region, it covers an area of 35,000 m² with an annual production capacity of 50,000 MT. Gulf Pack is specialized in plastic packaging requirements of food, beverage, water, pharmaceutical, and Personal Care industries within and around the Kingdom.
Students were led by the HR and public relation manager to the auditorium for a presentation on the history and the main activities of the factory.
The students were then shown around the factory by the technical manager who explained the different stages of manufacturing and packaging process which included raw material handling, injection molding, blowing molding, extrusion, quality control and final packaging. The guides also took time to answer the questions of the students. This field trip was a great experience as students got exposure to the real manufacturing processes.
